Just to give you a little back ground about myself and how Baby and Toddler Tastes came to be:
After obtaining a distinction in Home Economics at Kingsmead College I embarked on my journey to becoming a qualified professional chef. I was lucky to have parents who supported my dream and was enrolled at the Prue Leith cooking school in London in 1996. Following a year’s cooking and studying I obtained a diploma in food and wine. As a relatively inexperienced chef, I chose to work in a number of restaurants in and around London, as well as complete some amazing cooking courses in Europe. In 1998 I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on board a super yacht in French Polynesia which developed my confidence and forced me to become incredibly creative – given the fact that we were at sea for most of the time.
Once back in South Africa, my dream had always been to have my own business and in 1999 this dream became a reality when Exquisite Tastes was born. Exquisite Tastes has been the perfect platform for me to experiment with new ranges and ideas and over the years we have had some great fun with delicatessens, wine tastings, chefs tables and so on.
Whilst travelling in Europe with my first daughter in 2007, I was overwhelmed by the incredible selection of ready-made baby food and the seed was planted to launch a local range. After the birth of my second daughter in 2009 and having cooked all the girls’ food from scratch and freezing it in ice trays for convenience, I understood other mothers desires to feed their babies homemade, wholesome, balanced and nutritious food and thus Baby Tastes was born, closely followed by Toddler Tastes.
I am so privileged to work with an outstanding team of chefs and truly believe that without their belief and dedication to the products, Exquisite Tastes, Baby and Toddler Tastes would not be what they are today.
